This should fix the phone right up and allow you to download and send picture messages again. You might even notice an increase in speed and functionality after performing a reset.
It sets the phone to how it was when it came out of the box for the first time. Nice and clean. Remember that you can send a picture message to yourself to make sure that its working properly. If your device is still having issues messaging then a factory data reset will reset the APN settings, and fix any possible software bugs for you, and that is what I recommend as the sure fire fix for this issue.
Sorry for the delayed response Magon. I have yet to see the suggestions listed above, especially a factory data reset, not resolve this particular issue.
Usually it errors out and lets you know when that happens though. This too can affect the way your phone communicates with its wireless carrier. What phone was this happening on and what exactly was it doing? Or noticed a delay when receiving messages? The simplest way to check your messaging feature is by sending a message to your own phone number. You can also test its functionality by sending a message to another mobile phone number other than your own.
Sometimes these issues happen right away all at once or gradually get worse over time. Try and remember when you first noticed a delay on either end, whether it be sending or receiving, then try to remember if you had downloaded any apps applications or wallpapers ringtones etc around that time.
I am going to talk from an android smart phone perspective throughout the article, but the steps to take throughout this post should solve this delay on almost any type of phone. If you remember downloading anything around or before that time I recommend you write the name of it down and then un-install it.
Send some test messages and see if that cleared it up. If you turn off that app and the mobile is still giving you issues then I recommend you remove that app all together. Sometimes when your phone has been powered on for a long time which is very common it can get tired and need a rest. Many of us take our phones off the charger hop in our car to go to work or school, plug it into our car charger, get to our designation, plug it in there, plug it back into our car charger on the way home, plug it in to charge during bed, rinse and repeat.
Try to set aside a few min every couple or few days to just turn it off and let it sit for a few min. Perform a soft reset on your phone just for good measure. A soft reset is simply cutting all power from your phone, preferably for 10 or more seconds. If your phone allows you to remove the battery then go ahead and remove the battery from your mobile phone, count to 10, reinsert the battery and power the phone back on.
And as new mobile devices come and go, a lot of people are patronizing new devices because they come with new features and functionalities. And because of these, the companies are producing more efficient and more feature-packed devices. However, these mobile devices, especially smartphones are not without flaws.
A large number of smartphone users reports problems when it comes to receiving SMS or text messages within their smartphones. According to a lot of users, they receive significantly delayed text messages.
Other users report that they receive text messages filled with errors. According to these users, they might actually see a notification of a new text message. The cause of these delayed text messages or text message errors seems to be blurry.
However, the cause of these problems is not attributed to that of a network carrier. If you are experiencing problems with delayed text messages or text message errors, then you are not alone.
Fortunately, this article will tell you how to fix this issue and help you receive text messages on time. Or, you will be able to receive text messages without errors.
Delayed text messages is a real issue especially if the message is time sensitive. It can cause you a lot of trouble especially when these text messages are work-related and came from your superior. A lot of users reported that they still experience an error in text messages or delayed text messages even if they use the default SMS application of their phones, Android Messages, or even Textra.
Previously, solutions to this problem have not been presented. And before, it is recommended that you deactivate Advanced Messaging within the default application for messaging in order to stop receiving or not receiving delayed text messages. However, this solution is not guaranteed. For example, the device Samsung Galaxy S8 has a lot of users reporting these problems. This popular brand and model has a lot of issues associated with it.
But it seems like users should look for alternatives instead of using the particular Samsung device. A lot of people prefer other brands because of the issues. However, if you already have the said device or any other brand and model , you can still fix the issue by following our methods below. It is important to note that as you perform the steps we outline below, it is best to test the feature for messaging immediately after you implement a specific step.
What do we mean by that? Once you perform a method that we will recommend you do, it is best to check out or test the functionality of your device when it comes to sending and receiving text messages immediately after performing the specific troubleshooting. The simplest way to do this is to send a text message to your own mobile number which experiences the delayed text messages. Does it actually sound weird to you?
If you receive messages on time after you have done a specific step or method , then it means your phone is fixed. Aside from sending a message to your own number, you should also test its sending functionality by sending a message to that of another number beside yours. Sometimes the problem of delayed messages or error in messages happens at one point in time only.
At other times, it happens for a prolonged period of time and gets worse every single day. First, you should try to remember when the problem started. When did you notice that you keep having delayed messages whether sending it or receiving it? After which, remember if you actually had downloaded anything during that period of time.
This might be an application, a ringtone, a wallpaper, etc. So, do you remember anything now? Did you download any app, wallpaper, or ringtone around the time when you had the problem?
Well, write down these apps or whatever it may be in a small paper. After which, uninstall them one by one. After each app is uninstalled, check out by sending and receiving text messages deliberately. Are you use a non-default messaging app? Well, you can possibly remove that too. It is possible that your device updated its own operating system OS. If this is actually the case, the application might actually need an update.
If you deactivate that particular app and your smartphone is still experiencing issues, it is best to actually remove the application altogether. There are times when your mobile device has actually been turned on for a very long period of time. This is very common and it will lead to your mobile device getting tired.
